Hove Man Swims With Sharks.

Posted by Lawrence Greenlee

Here at Cobb Towers, we are lucky enough to work with some truly fantastic clients.
Certainly they don’t come much more dedicated, open minded and hard working, than the team over at the Starr Trust, a Brighton based charity that raises money and awareness for children’s projects both locally and around the world.
Rob Starr and his team are constantly on the hunt to spread the word and raise funds towards the targeted £100k. To highlight his sponsored channel swim [coming up in July] he has been training hard in all weathers down on Brighton beach , so rather than have a day off on his birthday, it was decided that we would step up the pace a bit.
8 am Wednesday, we arrived at the Juice FM studio with Rob, Michaela and the boys from Seethat media, (who where on hand to video the day) ready for an interview on the Guy and Andrea breakfast show.

From there a quick skip over to the Sealife Centre, where a large group of well-wishers, friends, sponsors and Meridian News cameras were waiting to watch him swim with sharks.
I’d never been to the Sealife Centre, even though I have lived here for several years. It was really good fun and very educational, the faces of the assorted business people around me were alive with ooohh’s and aaah’s, so I doubt I was the only one that reverted back to my childhood while we were there.
After the swim, it was over to the Terraces Bar and Grill, for a superb breakfast, a quick rendition of Happy Birthday to Rob, a bit of gentle networking and a catch up with the other local companies that make up the Club 21’ers.

The Rob Starr Appreciation Society.
All in all , it was a fantastic way to spend a morning, a very adventurous way for Rob to spend his birthday , all for a very worthwhile charity. It’s not all glamour in PR , the following day, I alongside a group of other volunteers spent the morning packing shopping bags at Tesco’s in Hove (well there is no such thing as a free breakfast!)
